Bio

Norman Ramsey is a writer and singer, storyteller and revealer of how God works in our lives. Norman has served as a pastor to churches in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia. He has performed in churches of every size, at Disneyworld, and on the stage of the Grand Old Opry. He has written over 100 songs and recorded three projects,: Near to the Heart of God, Apprentice, and The Colors of Grace.

His latest project, The Colors of Grace, testifies to Norman's desire to make the grace and joy of Jesus unavoidable. This calling caused Norman to attempt the World's Longest Sermon during Palm Sunday weekend in 2003, preaching 51 hours and 35 minutes. This calling shapes him as a pastor and captivates him as he shares in concert and in other spiritual events.

One of the most significant spiritual events in Norman's life has been the Walk to Emmaus, a 3-Day short course in Christianity. Norman attended the Elizabethtown, KY Walk to Emmaus #1 in 1984. A week after that experience He received his first pastoral appointment- 180 miles away. Distanced from the Walk by space and time, its impact and influence faded. It wasn't until ten years passed and Norman had the opportunity to serve on the leadership team of the Central Virginia Walk to Emmaus that the force of those three days was renewed. "I don't want anyone else to have to wait ten years to follow up what God shares with them", Norman said. That's why the songs for The Colors of Grace were written. The 15 songs reflect the spirit and content of the 15 talks that mark this 3-Day spiritual event. People can now have an immediate way of being reminded of the lessons God teaches. The music can also introduce and invite others to consider participating in this kind of 3-Day journey.

Norman shares, "What I celebrate most as a Christian is the goodness of God. God's always blessing us, transforming us in every way to represent Jesus Christ- to make his grace unavoidable." This is what Norman aims to do. Singing in concert, teaching on spiritual retreat, or sharing a dynamic example of God's grace, Norman aims and hits the mark of being faithful to the high calling of Jesus Christ.
